Meet Jill Gookin, a passionate equestrian who discovered her love for horses at the age of 48 after moving to 35 acres in the Colorado mountains. What began as a new adventure quickly blossomed into a deep love affair with all things equine. Jill's journey eventually led her to Arizona, where she now enjoys supreme trail riding year-round amidst the stunning desert landscapes. Her enthusiasm for horses and the great outdoors continues to inspire others to embrace the joy of riding and exploration.
Mounted Shooting
During my horse adventures, I had the thrilling experience of participating in mounted shooting competitions alongside my trusty horse, Boogs. Together, we competed in events across Colorado, Nebraska, and Missouri, forging unforgettable memories and honing our skills. After an exciting run in the sport, Boogs and I decided to retire from shooting, and now we relish our time together on the trails, exploring the beautiful landscapes and enjoying the freedom of trail riding.
Horse Camping
Now, my favorite activity with my horses is horse camping in Arizona. Whether we're enjoying the cooler summer months in the scenic Flagstaff area or soaking up the sun in Southern Arizona during the winter, each adventure offers a unique experience. Exploring the beautiful trails and stunning landscapes with my horses brings me immense joy and a deep connection to nature. Horse camping has truly become a cherished part of my equestrian journey!
